ZINC CONCENTRATE (Zn)

Zinc is an element that has been known since ancient times, although it was often confused with other metals. The earliest mention of zinc can be found in Mysia by Strabo, who described the metal as “false silver". Starting from 200 BC, zinc was mostly used in alloys. Zinc became easier to obtain with the advances in smelting methods after the Middle Ages, and in time, became an important metal in the industrial age in particular.

Areas of Use

In terms of usage volume, zinc is the most commonly used metal across the globe after iron, aluminum and copper. Primary consumers of zinc are iron and steel, industrial alloys, automotive, battery, cosmetic and healthcare industries. Thanks to increasing global demand, there is a significant number of zinc mines across the world producing zinc for industrial use.
